Onam Special Recipe: Kadala Curry

Black boiled channa- 20 grams
Grated coconut- 1 teaspoon
Shallots- 10 grams
Whole red chilli-1
Coriander seeds- ¼ Teaspoon
Sprigs curry leaves- 2-3
Coconut oil- 1 Teaspoon
Garlic- 3-4 cloves
Mustard seeds- ¼ teaspoon
Sliced onions- 20 grams
Red chilli powder- a pinch
Garam masala powder- ¼ teaspoon
Corinader Powder – ¼ Teaspoon
Salt to taste

- Sauté grated coconut including shallots, coriander seeds, red chilies, garlic and curry leaves in oil till they turn golden brown.
- Now, grind all the sautéed ingredients.
- Next, sauté mustard seeds and add sliced onions, coriander powder, chili powder, garam masala and ground ingredients to it and cook everything well.
- Add boiled channa with followed water and let it cook properly.
- Add salt to taste and serve kadala curry hot.
