Kuttu Ka Dosa

This crisp Kuttu Dosa recipe is a lifeline for Navratri devotees because there will be no more boring fasting foods loaded with oil. We bet this innovative Navratri especial dosa, made with buckwheat flour and arbi (colocasia) batter is a proven great choice if you want to avoid eating Kuttu in deep-fried foods like pooris or pakoris.

Nutritional Values:

Potatoes support heart health because of its consistency of fiber, potassium, vitamin C and vitamin B. it contains good amount of fiber which helps to lower the total amount of cholesterol in the blood, in effect of reducing the risk of heart disease.

Arbi (Colocasia)– it can do wonder to your health, both the root and leaves have its own benefits. It contains good amount of vitamins like vitamin A, B, C and E along with antioxidants. It has a good hold of zinc, fiber, and potassium.

Kuttu aata (buckwheat prevents us from a lot of things like diabetes, lowers cholesterol and blood pressure levels. Also, the content of fiber in kuttu aata helps to improve digestion. One of the most important things is that it doesn’t contain gluten, being non-allergenic.


For Potato Filling

  • 1 small boiled potato
  • Salt to taste (sendha namak)
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chopped ginger

For the Dosa

  • 20 grams kuttu (buckwheat) aata
  • 10 grams of boiled arbi
  • Salt to taste (sendha namak)
  • 1/2 tsp Ajwain
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger, chopped
  • 1 tsp Green chillies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Chopped green chillies

Calories: 138.7 Kcal
Proteins: 2.68 grams
Fat: 5.51 grams
Carbohydrates: 19.55 grams


  • Take a bowl, mash arbi and mix it with the kuttu aata and salt.
  • Add some water to it and mix well.
  • Add the ajwain, ginger, red chilli powder and green chillies to it and again mix well.
  • Now keep adding water to the mixture and keep stirring it in one direction till the batter turns in smooth flowing consistency.
  • By the time, heat up a flat pan and dab a bit of ghee on it and pour a ladle of the batter and spread it evenly.
  • Cook it for a few minutes using ghee around its edges to make it crisp.
  • Now flip it upside down and cook its other side.
  • Now put the filling of boiled mashed potatoes on top and fold the dosa.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney.
