Thepla Paneer Wrap

Theplas are versatile and can be prepared in many ways. Stuff them with your favourite vegetables and pack it for your kid’s lunch. The stuffing in this recipe is of paneer and peas and the thepla is prepared with whole wheat flour and fenugreek leaves.

Nutritional Benefits

Whole wheat flour is a good source of fiber, iron and zinc. Fenugreek leaves contain fibers, proteins, vitamins and minerals like folic acid, phosphorus, calcium, iron, vitamin A and C. It helps in reducing cholesterol levels and is healthy for the skin. Paneer is a high protein food and contains excellent amounts of calcium.

Ingredients

For Thepla

  • 30 grams whole wheat flour
  • 10 grams fenugreek(methi) leaves, finely chopped
  • Pinch of turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste

For Stuffing

  • 20 grams peas, boiled
  • 20 grams paneer(cottage cheese), grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger-green chilli paste
  • 1 teaspoon coriander leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Method

For Thepla

  • Combine all the ingredients for the thepla and knead with water into a soft dough. Keep it aside for
    10 minutes.
  • Divide the dough in 2 portions and roll out in the shape of theplas.
  • Heat a non-stick tawa with some oil and cook each thepla on a medium flame till it turns brown on
    both sides. Keep aside.

For stuffing

  • Heat oil in a non-stick kadhai. Add ginger-green chilli paste and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  • Add peas, paneer, and salt and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • Turn the flame off and add coriander leaves and keep the mixture aside.

Making Thepla Paneer Wraps

  • Place a thepla on clean and dry surface, place enough stuffing and roll it up tightly.
  • Repeat for the other thepla too.
  • Serve immediately.

Over to You

Pack two theplas in the tiffin for your kid and it will serve as a whole meal. It is full of nutrients and
is healthy for consumption.
