Having sugars means having only empty calories, so the only way is to yank them out. But cutting on sugars are not always as easy as it sounds. Without sweet treats and comfort foods, you may feel like you’re depriving yourself. The good news is that there are more substitutes than ever and one of them is coconut sugar. With this super healthy smoothie, you will feel sweet, energetic without adding to many calories.
Nutritional benefits – Golden beets are sweet in tastes contains fibre, iron, potassium, and folic acid. Grapes contain powerful antioxidants known as polyphenols. They are good for heart health, blood pressure, constipation. The main ingredient using as the sugar substitute is coconut sugar which is healthier than table sugar. It has iron, zinc, calcium, and potassium, along with some short-chain fatty acids like polyphenols and antioxidants. It also contains fiber which slows glucose absorption and therefore coconut sugar has a lower glycemic index than regular table sugar.
- 20 grams’ golden beets (scrubbed, chopped)
- 15 grams’ grapes
- 1 cup low-fat yogurt
- 1 teaspoon of coconut sugar
- Few pumpkin seeds
- ½ cup crushed ice
Preparation time 15-30 minutes
Calories– 180-183 kcals
- Pour yoghurt into the blender & add golden beets, grapes, ice cubes, coconut sugar and pumpkin seeds to it.
- Blend all ingredients until smooth.
- Pour it into a glass, chill it and enjoy this delicious smoothie.
