Go Green with Ginger Pear Drink

It’s the start of sweet pear season so include this amazing fruit in a health drink that you can enjoy any time of the day. Beginning your day with this drink will replenish your with its goodness for rest of the day. Apart from that, ginger used in this drink recipe is to give you a unique and zing flavour to it! Try adding a little of ginger to start with and add more after blending everything together.
Pears used in this drink as the main ingredient are valued for their medicinal benefits over thousands of years. Apart from its sweet and juicy taste, it is loaded with potassium, folate, manganese, dietary fibre, vitamin C, K, B-complex vitamins, phenolic compounds, magnesium and copper. Next, baby spinach giving the green colour to this drink is packed with nutrients such as vitamin K, A, iron, and magnesium. Then there’s the almond milk which is low in fat, high in energy, proteins, fibre and lipids. When added with chia seeds it builds the nutty flavour and creaminess. Chia seeds are a rich source of antioxidants including fibre, omega-3 fatty acids and proteins that help thicken the drink.
Ripe pear, chopped and seeded- 1
Almond milk, unsweetened- 1½ cup
Baby spinach- 4-6 leaves
Chia seeds- 1 tbsp.
Fresh ginger, peeled and minced- ¼ tsp.
**Optional: Sweetener of your choice- 1 tsp.
Calories: 151 kcal
In a bowl, whisk almond milk and chia seeds together. Refrigerate it for ten minutes.
Put the remaining ingredients in a blender.
Take out chia seed and milk mixture from refrigerator and give it a good whisk before you pour it in a blender. Now, blend until it completely gets smooth.
After blending, taste and add ingredients according to your taste preferences.
Once everything is done, it’s ready to be served.
