How do you decide exactly what the backpack essentials are, and what to leave behind? You need to carry a fair bit of stuff, but also keep the backpack as lightweight as possible and save space. First and foremost items at the top of priority list should provide comfort and convenience and ideally serve more than one purpose. For that, make sure you’re choosing things efficiently.

The heat hampers your vacation and affects your eating habits as well. With the temperature soaring upwards makes you feel dehydrated, low on energy levels wherein your body constantly looks out for ways to cool it.

Here are some summer holiday diet tips for you to keep the body cool and energy levels high.

  • Coconut Water: It has both cooling and health properties which help to keep the body well hydrated and nourished due to its natural electrolyte supply.
  • Watermelon: They are full of water content, have cooling properties and give you a feeling of satiety. Just be aware that you do not eat the pre-cut fruits as they may be contaminated.
  • Detox Or Infused Water: Detox water is easy to make and is a refreshing cooling drink. This also helps to avoid the sugary and carbonated drinks which are full of bad/ unhealthy carbs.
  • Refillable Water Bottle: This is a great way to stay hydrated without having to pay a ton of money throughout your vacation. The bottles can be refilled for free at dining locations or at gas stations.
  • Eat To Stay Hydrated: Since dehydration is the most common problem for skin when traveling, think “water” when choosing your meals. Juicy fruits and veggies, soups, and fresh greens works best to stay hydrated. Some of the foods include tomatoes, zucchinis, cucumbers, watermelons, pineapples, celery, radishes, green peppers, strawberries, grapefruits, cantaloupes, oranges, lettuce, and cabbages.
  • Mess-Free Snacks: When it comes to snacking, one of the best ideas is to bring in some mess-free and healthy snacks so that there’s no need to clean up the hands, and also can recover those hunger pangs! Some of the easiest snacks to bring in are nuts, multigrain chips, seeds, fresh fruits, and crackers.

  • Aloe Vera Gel: Aloe gel is must-have when it comes to surviving the hot weather. The antibacterial effect of aloe vera helps to soothe the burns caused by the sun and also gives a cooling effect.
  •  Face Wipes: Face wipes work wonders- from cleaning up sticky hands after ice cream to just feeling a little more refreshed after walking around for half the day. You can get these fairly inexpensively, and they come in packs of all sizes.
  • Sunscreen: Even on days when it’s cloudy, it is necessary to wear sunscreen, and then re-apply it throughout the day. Over the course of your vacation, you’re going to be out in the sun a lot, and no one wants sunburn so bad that they can’t enjoy the parks anymore. So, pack the sunscreen in your zip lock bag.
  • Band-Aids Or Travel First Aid Kits: – Bringing along with some basic first aid supplies, like band-aids in your backpack will help keep everyone safe in the case of a little scrape or cut. The mini first aid kits have everything from band-aids, antibacterial wipes to mosquito repellents.
  • Hand Sanitizer: It is must on to keep a sanitizer with you to keep away from the germs. Instead of trying to squeeze into a crowded bathroom every time you go on a ride or touch an icky surface, we suggest packing a small hand sanitizer in your backpack.
  •  Travel-Sized Deodorant: It is a must-have product as you walk around a lot in the sun, which may start to feel a little itchy. So, to stay fresh all day do pack one small pocket deodorant. Trust us, this is a must!

  •  Cooling Facial Setting Spray: If you want to cool down in the bright sun without ruining your makeup, pack a travel-sized cooling facial spray or the face mists. It will stop your makeup from melting or smudging while actually chilling the surface of your makeup to keep it picture-perfect for long hours.
  • Rose Water: It helps to keep you refreshed and also gives a toning effect. The anti-inflammatory properties help to reduce redness and irritation caused by the sun. It also rehydrates the skin.
